The Press Gallery is engaged to raise the profile of local children’s charity and advocate, HeartKids SA/NT, and to assist its continued and sustained growth by identifying positive media opportunities for the organisation.
The bespoke media strategy includes the writing and distribution of media releases, story generation, securing a high-profile ambassador and preparing talent (both HeartKids employees and HeartKids families) for interviews across TV, radio news, print & online publications. Media pitches need to be unique and gain momentum for the HeartKids community and generate donations for the charity among the business community.
Since The Press Gallery was engaged to assist HeartKids, the charity has seen significant and continued statewide media coverage. We secured the assistance of four high-profile South Australian personalities for a double-page Sunday Mail spread for their major fundraiser, Super Boss Day. The Press Gallery team conceptualised, pitched and organised the photoshoot. As part of this campaign, The Press Gallery also created a media stunt which saw SA Window Cleaners dressed as superheroes Batman, Superman and Spiderman, abseil a Victoria Square building. Most recently we have also secured a front page of The Advertiser and a double page spread for their national fundraising campaign Sweetheart Day on February 14. Our work has also involved identifying and securing young Adelaide Crows star, Mitch McGovern, as a HeartKids ambassador, which generated widespread mainstream media. The Press Gallery has also provided critical advice and issues management on behalf of HeartKids, to protect the brand from potential reputational damage.
